Zagreb

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and its largest city.

Zagreb Cathedral, a Roman Catholic institution, originally built in 1217 by the Hungarians, is the tallest building in Croatia. It was rebuilt after a massive earthquake leveled Zagreb in 1880.

Fortifications built to protect the church from the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century still stand today.

Zagreb sits on many hills.

This is a list of witches killed in Zagreb posted at the Zagreb City Museum. Over 140 witches were convicted, and some were burned at the stake. Maria Theresa banned the death penalty for witchcraft in 1756.
